Process Transformation for a Transportation Company

Our customer wanted to reduce processing time and eliminate, as much as possible, any manual intervention in their core business processes. We helped them design and implement a complete e-business enabled ERP solution with a fully redesigned dispatch system. The solution helped them eliminate their manual dispatch dashboard, previously used to manage their trips. This greatly improved the dispatchers' productivity and accuracy of the transactions. The customer was able to reduce invoicing cycle time from weeks to days, resulting in improving cash flow. The solution also helped them reduce operating costs and improve customer service. The project was a great success and, consequently, we have enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship with the customer over the past 19+ years, helping them with a variety of different projects.

 

Helping a Transportation Company Implement an Electronic Route Sheet

Our customer wanted to replace their paper route sheet with an electronic one in order to reduce processing time and improve customer service. We helped them design and implement a solution that allows the driver to collect the information in real-time during their trip and update the back-end ERP system. The implementation was accomplished through the development of a mobile app that is now deployed in each truck of the customer's fleet. The app allows the driver to collect the necessary data and update the ERP system using web technologies in order to generate the electronic route sheet. By having a live electronic route sheet, our client's customers are able to query the status of their shipments in real-time through a web portal. This has dramatically improved customer service and satisfaction. By simplifying or eliminating data entry, the electronic route sheet has also reduced errors, resulting in lower costs. I lead this project and played a major role in the design, architecture, integration and implementation of the solution and the mobile app.
